About Race Equality Week
https://www.raceequalitymatters.com/race-equality-week/
Race Equality Week Feb 3rd - 9th, is a UK-wide annual movement uniting hundreds of thousands of organisations and individuals to address workplace barriers to race equality. Since its inception, Race Equality Week has grown into a pivotal force for change, engaging over 4 million people and 4,500 organisations.
Green Park CEO, Raj Tulsiani emphasises the importance of the week:
“This is a critical time of change for businesses and DEI, Wellbeing and Belonging viewpoints have evolved. DEI is not dying, it’s evolving into a mainstream management tool for improving business performance. The era of tokenism and performative gestures is over, and DEI is no longer a sideline issue - it’s central option to responding to real-world change."
Chair of Green Park Sir Trevor Phillips added:
“Our research shows that by 2050, half the UK’s population will be foreign-born or children and grandchildren of foreign-born individuals. The complexion of the workforce and the customer base is already changing so we need to act urgently. Leaders need to focus on what matters in this changing environment: creating happy, engaged and loyal employees delivering exceptional products and services, and driving shareholder value. The businesses that thrive will be those whose leaders lean into this reality today, not tomorrow.”
