Research from executive search firm Green Park and their diversity recruitment social enterprise DRIVE, find that 22% of firms are unaware of their current progress towards diversity targets and only 2% of the organisations surveyed are meeting their identified targets.
The research shows a surprising lack of trust between BAME leaders and the organisations they work for, with 82% of ethnic minority leaders believing there is institutional prejudice against minorities in the UK and 20% having personally experienced workplace discrimination.
A lack of accountability around diversity recruitment initiatives and underdeveloped strategies to increase ethnic minority representation are continuing the trend of low board level representation and poor senior talent pipelining among ethnic minority groups, according to the report.
