The Requirements

Veon is a $8Bn Nasdaq listed Tech and Telecomm’s operator, headquartered in Amsterdam. They operate across the CIS, Russia and emerging markets delivering digital solutions to their consumer base, to better utilise handheld mobile technology.

Green Park was approached to assist their Group HRD in searches that had been placed to the market yet had failed to yield the depth and diversity of Talent required.

The Challenge

Green Park hosted a series of meetings with the key stakeholders to understand the true dynamics of the role and person specifications and digested the target market previously researched. The result was a new strategy that could harness our diverse networks and expertise of the sector and specialisms required.

One of these searches was to identify a corporate finance specialist within the FS sector who had a track record in transactions (on buy and sell side) predominantly in emerging markets and telecoms/tech. We mapped the entire UK and European tech teams across the major banks, and corporate finance houses in a 6-week period and after an exhaustive selection process placed Leon Grant the first Black heritage candidate to their operating Board.

The Results

Leon relocated and has enjoyed a subsequent promotion and remains a key figure in this fast-paced organisation.

We have since made placements in Treasury, Finance, Tax, Audit and Investor Relations.
