The Context
Parkinson’s UK supports everyone affected by Parkinson’s, campaigning for better care, funding groundbreaking research, and delivering life-changing services. As the organisation looked to the next phase of its strategy, it set out to define an ambitious “North Star” to sharpen its focus and drive greater impact. A key priority was to double income and accelerate transformative change.
The Challenge
To help deliver this vision, Parkinson’s UK needed a new Chair - an inspiring, values-led leader with strong governance expertise and the ambition to scale the charity’s influence and impact. The role required proven board-level experience, strategic leadership, commercial acumen, and the ability to build and influence relationships across sectors.
Our Approac
Green Park partnered with Parkinson’s UK, building on an established relationship, to deliver a broad and inclusive search. We engaged talent across multiple sectors, including charities, the NHS, Government, financial services, FMCG, healthcare, transport, and media—ensuring a diverse, high-calibre shortlist aligned to the organisation’s mission.
The Outcome
A strong shortlist of five senior leaders was presented, spanning private healthcare, charities, the NHS, consumer industries, and Government. Kristina Murrin was successfully appointed. With a distinguished career in social impact leadership—including Chief Executive of The King’s Foundation and Senior Advisor at Number 10—she brings both strategic expertise and a personal connection to Parkinson’s, strengthening the charity’s leadership for the future.
