Managing Partner
Kai joined Green Park in 2011 after eight years at another leading executive search firm. He founded the Charities & Social Enterprise practice in 2012 and was quickly promoted to Partner on the back of its rapid growth and 75% repeat business rate. In 2020 he was promoted to the position of Managing Partner and Head of Public & Voluntary Sector Search, encompassing Government, Healthcare, Education, Housing, Charities, and Social Enterprise.
Kai has successfully delivered complex senior mandates for non-profit organisations large and small, established and start-up, regional, national and international, and has ultimate responsibility for all projects within the third sector.
Having previously fulfilled roles in research and project management, and holding an MSc in occupational psychology, Kai has a sophisticated understanding not only of the mechanics of the executive search process, but also of the human dynamics that are at play at times of critical decision-making. As such, he is well positioned to mitigate potential risks while developing innovative, tailored solutions to his clients.
Believing that the team’s activity needs to go beyond recruitment, Kai is an active participant in many important discussions relating to the wider sector. He has worked closely with Acevo on their best practice guide to recruiting Chairs, Trustees, and CEOs, sat on the steering committee for the Bayes Business School/Centre for Charity Effectiveness report on the Future Charity Chair, and speaks regularly at national industry events. He is a strong advocate of Green Park’s work to improve visible and cognitive diversity within his markets.
Kai and his team have particular expertise in working with organisations going through transition and change at Board and Senior Executive levels, including start-up, scale-up, and turnaround, those building effective and complementary Boards through multiple appointments, those looking to secure talent from other sectors, and those interested in doing things differently.
I like solving complex problems. The attraction of my role is bringing together the right people at the right time to create the right impact.
