Recruitment International: New IR35 tax rules will come to the private sector

Findings from a recent Green Park survey show that 58% Human Resources Directors in the UK believe that changes to IR35, already rolled out within the public sector, will be introduced to the private sector within the next 2 years.

72% of the HRDs surveyed believe introducing this legislation within the private sector could drive wages up by an average of 23% as contractors considered within IR35 would, for tax purposes, be treated as employees with tax and national insurance contributions taken at source, as opposed to being administered by the contractors PCS, (Personal Service Companies).
