2019 has got off to a fantastic start at Green Park with a trio of nominations for this year’s Recruiter Awards.

We’re honoured to feature amongst this year’s contenders – and particularly proud of our People Solutions Practice, which has been shortlisted in the Outstanding Outsourced Recruitment Organisation category. It’s a remarkable achievement for a team that was only established in 2016. In just over 2 years, the Practice has grown quickly and now generates a turnover of circa £60 million, yet their biggest achievement is what they have done for their clients, which include a range of central Government departments, non-departmental public bodies and private sector organisations.

People Solutions: the lowdown

The Practice was established to tackle the growing complexity of Green Park’s clients’ needs. It provides organisations with a scalable approach to address the key issues affecting their talent attraction, retention and management processes. One of the team’s strengths is their ability to manage the mobility of professionals between sectors. Between October 2017 and October 2018, the People Solutions Practice placed over 300 candidates into Central Government roles from alternative UK market sectors, helping Government attract from the widest possible talent pool.

Outsourcing excellence

David Needham founded the practice following the acquisition of a large Government contract which quickly built a reputation for outsourcing excellence. An organisation that helps UK businesses worldwide to export and grow internationally, they needed a partner who could streamline its recruitment and talent management process to make it more efficient. Working in collaboration, the team set about re-thinking the client’s processes. The result? A new bespoke project management system, an innovative contract structure, a hand-picked supply chain and a re-positioned employee value proposition. Today, Green Park People Solutions has over 500 temporary and senior interim managers currently working for this client across the globe.

The courage to innovate

The Practice has been busy evolving so it’s able to help clients in a fast-changing world. In 2018, the team took the decision to develop beyond traditional contingent recruitment services and provide a consultative, problem solving approach – an ambitious endeavour. It meant hiring personnel to build digital and workforce capability, provide managed service projects and give expert advice. In fact, the team grew by 140% between October 2017 and October 2018. With the additional expertise and new strategic proposition, the Practice successfully secured a place on a number of Government Professional Services consultancy frameworks. Since then, People Solutions has been awarded a number of contracts including the delivery a key DevOps Transformation project on behalf of a major Government Department and the build of a sexual health business from inception in East Africa.

Successes such as these show why the People Solutions Practice has made the Recruiter Awards shortlist – but also why it’s such an asset to Green Park. We’ve drawn on the team’s expertise to meet some unique challenges: for example, advising on major Government Reviews and the National Equality Standard. Our experts have also helped us place the most diverse board to TFL in its history and helped them win Clear Assured status. So hats off to the People Solutions Practice – and good luck on Awards Night: 9th May.
