Meet Jaskiran Gulati; Associate Partner in Green Park’s Private Sector and Technology Team.

Jaskiran Gulati is an expert in Cloud, Infrastructure and IT management recruitment and part of the Technology & Digital team. An Associate Partner at Green Park since January 2022, Jaskiran thrives on helping clients bring high-calibre talent to senior IT leadership roles.

It’s a challenge that allows Jaskiran to utilise the extensive market knowledge that he’s built over the course of his career. From his early days studying Business Information Systems, through increasingly senior Search roles, Jaskiran has amassed a wealth of insight into the IT sector. Joining a major recruitment consultancy after university, he rose quickly through the ranks, leading ever-larger teams. He is an extremely capable client partner, providing insights and sharing his continuously growing expertise.

“I’ve worked in tech, studied tech and have developed a passion for this field. I know the market from both a client and candidate perspective, so when a client puts a job spec in front of me, I know what they want very quickly.”

Jaskiran’s deep understanding of the Technology market also means that he sees some clear emerging trends. As organisations increasingly see IT as an enabler and not simply a support function, the need for articulate, strategic thinkers is clear.

“Now more than ever, there’s a demand for candidates who are technical but also business-facing. It’s important that they can talk to senior stakeholders and explain what they’re doing. Leaders want to know how IT can reduce costs and bring benefits to the business. In today’s world – and at senior leadership level – people skills aren’t a nice-to-have; they’re essential.”

For candidates, it’s not just polished communication skills that must feature on a CV. As tech evolves at lightning pace, Jaskiran says IT professionals must continually upskill if they want to make the shortlist for the most attractive roles.

“The market is growing in terms of technology; for example, there’s an increasing demand for skills in emerging areas such as automation. For candidates with the latest tech stack, it’s a job seekers’ market. Those with exposure to leading-edge technologies will have a definite advantage.”

For Jaskiran himself, a balance of technical understanding and people skills has been just as significant. “I was always interested in IT,” he says ““however I wanted to be business facing, it’s the people factor that really attracted me to recruitment; the human element.”

Now a key member of the Green Park team, Jaskiran works not only with varied clients and candidates, but a host of highly skilled colleagues.

The fact that these experts genuinely care about the principles of diversity and inclusion is what first drew Jaskiran to Green Park.

“EDI is not a tick-box exercise here,” he says. “I see clients seeking us out for that reason. For me, as an ethnic minority candidate, that’s important and Green Park’s values resonate. It’s the right organisation, with the right culture. That’s a very big thing for me.”
