Green Park takes on the Cumbrian Challenge

Green Park takes on the Cumbrian Challenge

Taking place in May, we are pleased to announce that Green Park will have two teams entering the annual Cumbria Challenge in support of charity Walking with the Wounded, which seeks to change the lives of veterans and, crucially, their families. Providing early intervention programmes and speeding up access to therapy for men and women who have served, Walking with the Wounded targets those struggling with mental health issues, unemployment, homelessness or caught in police custody.

The Cumbria Challenge will see the teams trekking across the Lake District over three peaks in a 16-kilometer hike with a 600-meter ascent. Collectively, the two teams, Sole Sisters and Legs Miserable, will collectively include six Green Park employees who aim to fundraise a total of £4,000. If you would like to help us reach our target, please click here to donate.

This year’s Cumbrian Challenge commemorates Walking with the Wounded’s tenth anniversary, for which the charity have pledged to plant 8664 trees to signify the number of veterans they have helped over the decade. Similarly, as part of Green Park’s five-year commitment to supporting positive social and environmental impact, we recently announced our own pledge to plant a tree for every leader we place.

We are pleased to be continuing our commitment to affecting positive social and environmental change through the support of our employee’s philanthropic efforts and Green Days policy, which provides Green Park staff with three days optional leave a year to take part in charitable causes.

On behalf of Green Park, we wish everyone taking part in the Cumbrian Challenge 2020 a wonderful walk and congratulate our team on their fantastic efforts to fundraise for a great cause.
