“Clients are looking for partnerships, not just relationships.”

Chris Jones joins Green Park as Head of Interim technology

Keeping up with trends in technology can be a full-time job. But Chris Jones isn’t fazed. In fact, it’s one of the reasons he loves the field. “Technology’s constant transformation keeps me excited and my mind active,” he says. However, for Chris, the future’s not just about AI, Blockchain or the latest innovation. It’s about connecting with people – a far more human element.

Chris’s view is built on ten years’ experience at the heart of the Recruitment industry. During this time, he’s moved through a series of increasingly complex Technology roles, gaining a nuanced insight into what his clients want. Having achieved success in Application Development, Software Development and Testing, Chris took on a Director’s role in 2018 and built a Technology, Digital and Data Recruitment practice from scratch. Ready for a new challenge in 2020, Chris joined Green Park as Head of the business’s Interim Technology Practice.

Since then, Chris has been helping IT vendors, consulting firms and multiple end-user customers to recruit for technology, digital and data roles. “I’m working across sectors, recruiting a lot of Data Scientists, Developers, Product Owners and Infrastructure Architects,” says Chris. Projects have involved clients in Finance, Industry and Commerce, most recently a consultancy in Sweden and a major broadcaster. “Although the Covid-19 pandemic has meant large corporations need to streamline, there’s still tremendous investment in Fintech and a lot of ambitious start-ups.”

Chris says organisations are still recruiting for Cloud, Development and Data roles, but he’s seeing AI and Robotics professionals increasingly sought after. “Tomorrow’s world is more automated, with accessibility and usability major factors. Human interaction is diminishing as AI becomes more prevalent.”

Chris tackles the challenge of helping clients find the right talent with typical drive and insight. “Clients are increasingly looking for partnerships that add value – not just relationships. I want to make the hiring manager’s job easier and bring Diversity & Inclusion expertise, too.”

With his consultative, open approach and focused energy, Chris is adept at bringing the support clients want. And now, with Green Park’s proficiency in Diversity and Inclusion, he feels able to bring clients their ideal candidates too. “Clients are asking for candidates with diverse backgrounds. They want a partner that can drive that. When clients look at our business and see our achievements, they realise we can help them.”

And it’s not just clients that are attracted by Green Park’s focus on diversity. It also played a big part in Chris’s decision the join the company.

“I was looking for an innovative, forward-thinking business that lives by it values,” says Chris. “Diversity and Inclusion is something I care immensely, which is why I chose Green Park. The business is actively trying to make change happen. I want to be part of that, and I hope to bring plenty of energy and passion to the task.”
