James Greengrass joined Green Park as a Senior Partner in 2023, with a focus on the recruitment of senior professionals in the Civil Service. James has over twenty-six years’ experience in executive search and selection. He began his career at Price Waterhouse and continued it through its merger with Coopers & Lybrand to what became PricewaterhouseCoopers. Having started his executive search career in research, he brings an in depth understanding of all elements of successful recruitment.
Through his time at subsequent executive search firms, he has led search functions and large teams, holding additional responsibilities as the chief operating officer and head of permanent recruitment. James has successfully delivered complex senior mandates for both public and private sector organisations at c-suite level. Having worked for a variety of governments under seven different Prime Ministers, he has a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities Senior Civil Service roles present and how best to market them to external candidates in changing and changeable conditions.
He enjoys gaining an understanding of how organisations really work and how they might be better places to work. James holds undergraduate (B.Sc.) and Masters (M.Sc.) degrees in Psychology and has worked with psychological profiling and testing for many years. He is an advocate for their informed and fair usage for both clients and candidates.
