Job Type:

Lankelly Chase

A mission-driven, creative and groundbreaking charitable trust, with a strong and resonating history to our name, we are committed to combating multiple disadvantage and the factors that cause it. Led by a strong board of trustees that is ready to take risks, work with ambiguity, and adapt toLankelly Chase’s learning, we are proud to be creating lasting change in the multiple systems that affect society’s most disadvantaged people.

We create change by taking a ‘whole system’ approach. We support and fund: research to build a deeper understanding of the lives and perspectives of people facing multiple disadvantage, innovation to work out how to support and sustain effective practice, capacity building to equip people at all levels with the tools to work in complex environments, and place-based approaches to grow ‘holistic’ responses from the ground up. We work with people with lived experience as well as people across the voluntary and statutory sector to build powerful alliances, trusting dialogue and shared vision and purpose.

As a key member of the non-executive board and sub-committees, the Chair will play a pivotal role in shaping Lankelly Chase’s purpose and objectives. This is a unique role and Lankelly Chase wish to speak to candidates who will bring innovation, an enquiring mind, an adaptiveness to others, and a strong sense of leadership and governance.

The Chair will hold the Board and Executive Team to account for the organisation’s mission and values, and provide strong leadership that embeds the concept of Lankelly Chase across the range of stakeholders with which it engages. The Chair will also support and, where appropriate, challenge the Chief Executive, and ensure that the Board functions as a unit and works closely with the entire Executive to achieve agreed objectives. He or she will act as an ambassador and the public face of Lankelly Chase in partnership with the Chief Executive.
